Annotation In this article, the authors consider the key factors of increasing the strategic competitiveness of the industrial structure of the region, which determine the current trends in the spatial development of the Russian Federation. The relevance of the research is determined by its significance from a scientific and practical point of view, as it is due to the trends of globalization, the formation of Industry 4.0, the introduction of breakthrough innovations and radical technologies, and so on. To achieve the research goal, the methods of generalization of scientific knowledge, system-structural and comparative analysis, analytical and graphical interpretation of data were used. The study analyzed some structural changes in the industry of the Russian Federation, the regions of the Volga Federal District, as well as the dynamics of the development of key indicators of the economic development of the Perm Region, including the gross regional product and the structure of commodity exports of industries. Trends in the development of industrial structures in the region were identified, which the authors evaluated based on the dynamics of the industrial production index. It is determined that the specifics of the spatially polycentric industrial structure of the Perm Region are a key factor of strategic competitiveness in the face of modern challenges. The thesis is formulated about the premature deindustrialization of the economy of the Russian Federation, which must be countered by an active regional structural policy of spatial and sectoral development. Based on the systematization of the characteristic features, the directions of increasing the strategic competitiveness of the industrial structure of the Perm Region are proposed. The results of the work carried out are of a systematic nature, potentially in demand in the practice of industry and regional management
