Annotation The problem of unequal development of rural areas in the scientific literature is associated with the concept of economic depression and its solution is aimed at finding reserves to increase the profitability of the economy and the main enterprises. Attracting effective demand affects a complex set of interrelated conditions and factors that are characterized by the competitive state of production, the attractiveness of the territory for visiting and developing business initiatives. The increase in profitability is associated with the formation of favourable conditions for the implementation of projects aimed at optimizing the use of existing natural resource potential for commercial purposes, which implies a systematic state and regional support, transfer and subsidized nature of ensuring sustainable growth of financial and economic indicators of economic agents, and control of the intended use of funds. The purpose of this work is to determine the direction of economic income growth in rural areas based on the assessment of the potential commercial effect of the mass use of natural medicinal resources in the activities of enterprises of the sanatorium complex of the Perm region. Research methods: descriptive and formal logical analysis, business process modeling. Increasing the profitability of the rural economy is associated with a comprehensive approach to the development of several types of activities that can provide sufficient commercial effect and contribute to the gradual transformation of the socio-economic space. Optimizing the use of the potential of natural healing resources will have a positive impact on the diversification of services of enterprises of the Spa complex, their mass consumption, and the effect on related industries. Increasing the profitability of the rural economy is associated with scientifically based business planning, which allows you to assess the profitability of various scenarios for commercialization of natural medicinal resources in strengthening the medical specialization of resorts and health resorts in the region
