Annotation The article is devoted to the analysis of the attitude of Russian youth to science and education and its ideas about the social role of these categories in Russia. The authors of the article particularly focus on the consideration of the modern system of science and education as an integral part of the state youth policy of the Russian Federation at the present stage. In the context of this, the author considers the opinions on the impact of education and science on various aspects of public life, as well as the degree of understanding of the consequences of scientific and technological progress for the Russian Federation at the present stage. A comparative analysis of the opinion of young people as a special socio-demographic group and representatives of other socio-demographic groups of the Russian Federation as a whole is carried out, the main differences in social attitudes and guidelines of young people from different countries are recorded. In addition, according to the results of the study, science and education are one of the most important structural elements of the state youth policy of the Russian Federation, and also act as the basic driving force in the process of formation of future qualified and competitive specialists in the labor market from students and students.
