Annotation The objective and subjective components of employment in the sphere of reindeer herding — the traditional industry are examined on the example of South Yakutia . It is established that in the studies of Russian sociologists, ethnicity remains the leading marker of social differentiation and stratification, one of the main types of social interaction. It has been revealed that a multidimensional characteristic covering all aspects of human life is a social state of health that includes both cognitive judgments about life satisfaction and affective assessments of emotions and moods. It is noted that social well-being is a complex and dynamic indicator, which has a significant role in the labor process of the aboriginal society. It is shown that, despite the existence of different research direchons, the problems of social adaptation, stereotypes, and social well-being of small ethnic groups are among the insufficiently studied, in particular in hie Republic of Sakha (Yakuha). The general characteristic of the inveshgated region is given. An analysis of the mass of the data on the tribal communities located on the ancestral lands of hie traditional residence and economic activities of the Evenks of hie Neryungri and Aldan districts of Southern Yakuha is carried out. Empirical research has shown that the effective social inclusion in the sphere of professional self-realization depends on hie social well-being of the employed and youth. It was concluded that there are socio-economic problems that complicate hie process of adaptahon of hie aboriginal society to changing environmental conditions
