Arens Viktor Zhanovich

Vice-President of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences since 1992, Chairman of the mining and metallurgical section of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences; born August 14, 1933; graduated from the Moscow Mining Institute in 1956, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor; worked his way up from mining foreman to chief engineer at the Polysaevskaya-Severnaya hydraulic mine in Kuzbass; from 1963 he worked at the State Institute of Mining and Chemical Raw Materials; conducted teaching activities at the Moscow Mining Institute and the Moscow Geological Prospecting Institute; Academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences (1991); President of TsIPIN RANSAL; Honored Worker of Science and Technology of the Russian Federation; laureate of the State Prize of the Turkmen SSR; awarded the Order of “Miner’s Glory” of 3 degrees.
