Annotation The problem of economic growth and its rates is one of the most important in the economy. Its research allows to understand the reasons for the differences in the standard of living of the population between different countries in the same period and within the country in different periods of time; to study the factors contributing to economic growth and its rate, to develop public policies to ensure and accelerate economic development. The article analyzes the dynamics and structure of Russia’s GDP in current and base prices, estimates the indices of the physical volume of gross domestic product. Attention is focused on the problem of equitable distribution of income among different segments of the population, decile coefficients and Gini coefficients are presented. It is stated that the more evenly distributed income in the economy, the more actively it uses such a factor of economic growth as aggregate demand. It is noted that the population of Russia is still quite a large part of their funds are forced to spend on the purchase of food products, so agriculture, being a multifunctional industry, provides a huge impact on aggregate demand, consumption, savings, quality of life of citizens and, as a consequence, on economic growth. As a part of the import substitution policy implementation, Russia has reached and exceeded the threshold values of the food security doctrine for a number of key food products. It is concluded that the further development of agricultural production similar to other sectors of the national economy is possible due to post-industrial factors such as information, knowledge, technology, entrepreneurial abilities. They contribute to the growth of the added value of the industry and as a consequence increase its share in the GDP structure
