Annotation Nowadays the foreign trade of the Baikal Region is actively developing influencing socio-economic development of the region. The share of the region in the total trade turnover of the Russian Federation is 1,6 % (export – 1,9 %; import – 1 %). The article analyses modern specificity of the Baikal Region’s foreign trade. It also contains general description of volume development and major trends in changing of import and export commodity structure of the Baikal Region according to the statistics of the Federal Customs Service (2010–2018) of the Baikal Region in export. In the medium-term perspective, the development of the Baikal Region will be influenced by the traditional industries and the dominance of raw materials in the commodity structure of export. The implementation of deep processing investment projects and export of finished goods is a prospective direction of the foreign trade development.
