Annotation The paper presents the results of a qualitative analysis of the deputy corps of municipal legislatures in the Siberian Federal District. It is noted that the legal status and organizational features of regional parliaments were formed by the end of the 1990s, which contributed to a considerable interest of researchers in the phenomenon of parliamentarism in the Russian political process. It was during this period that the Federal Law of October 6, 1999 was adopted, securing the legal status of the regional parliaments and the regional deputy corps. Since that time, several directions have been formed in studying this political institution of regional authority. Among them are issues related to the establishment of a fixed number of deputy corps members in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, the study of the gender composition of the regional political elite, in particular, the issues of women representation in regional authorities within the system of municipal government, in political parties and legislatures, the analysis of the personal composition, and functional orientation of regional parliaments. In regional studies, there is an increase in researchers’ attention to conducting a qualitative analysis of regional parliaments in a historical context, studying the impact of the education factor, age and social and occupational characteristics on the assessment of current activity of parliament members. When analyzing the city legislatures of the regional centers of the Siberian Federal District, the authors focus on two criteria – party interests and social and professional dimensions. The results of the study showed that the party range of the deputy corps demonstrates the degree of development of the democracy principles in the regional space affecting all stages of the regional election process, the results of parliamentary elections and the further impact of parliamentarians on regional politics. The social and professional features of the deputy corps demonstrated the interrelationship of this criterion and the peculiarities of industrial production in the region. Besides, it has made it possible to reveal the level of voters’ confidence in public organizations that provide social, legal, informational and other services to people
