Annotation It is noted that the problem of convergence with “Belt and Road” and the realization of investment opportunities in the Far East of Russia are accompanied by both opportunities for development and problems. The purpose of the article is to show the peculiarities of the implementation of the “Belt and Road” initiative as a global geo-economic system at the current stage. Taking into account implementation of the Chinese mega project “Belt and Road” and its convergence with the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) for the Far East, new opportunities for development are opened, including the joint construction of infrastructure involving Chinese investment, technology and scientific personnel. According to the authors, participation of the subjects of the Far East in this project will make it possible to eliminate the backwardness of this region by actively participating in international integration cooperation in the Eurasian region. The unique goal of merging these two major integration projects is to build a land, sea, economic, and civilizational bridge between the East and the West. According to experts, Russian Far East occupies an important geo-economic position in convergence initiative “Belt and Road” with the Eurasian Economic Union. Here, for Chinese investors, the implementation of such major joint projects as the Nizhneleninskoe – Tongjiang railway bridge and the Blagoveshchensk – Heihe railway bridge, Primorye-1 and Primorye-2 international transport corridors, and the development of the Russian island and Bolshoi Ussuriysky Island are becoming attractive. The “Belt and Road” will be successful, if China as a responsible power will follow the rules of the concept of a “community of common destiny,” which is built on the principles of equality, mutual trust, openness, tolerance and win-win strategy
