Annotation The relevance of the topic under discussion is due to the solution of the prob-lem of preserving the quality of water resources in the conditions of anthropogenic impact. The aim of this work was to study the distribution of physical and chemical parameters of the waters of the lake Arakhley in vertical section. According to the ra-tio of the main ions, the water under consideration belongs to the bicarbonate magne-sium-calcium type, the value of mineralization in the considered period (March-August 2012) it varied within 154…174 mg/l, the average pH was 7,9. Waters of the lake Arakhley are characterized by the constancy of ionic composition and minerali-zation, within the water area and in vertical section. The content of carbon dioxide in the water column has a significant impact on the concentration of hydrogen ions, as evidenced by the inverse relationship between their values. The observed increase in the content of nitrogen forms and carbon dioxide in the bottom part of the lake is most likely related to the processes of life of organisms and vegetation. The recorded excess concentrations of manganese, copper, nickel and aluminum over maximum permissible concentration indicate the need for additional studies to identify their sources
Key words Key words: lake Arakhley; chemical type water; carbon dioxide; nitrogen forms; metals
