Annotation In the article the process of myths’ formation influence on the Jewish identity development is analyzed. The authors believe that up to the 20th century religious formation of myths exerted an impact on the Jewish identity. The conducted research proves that with the Education epoch the situation changed as secularization had led to weakening of religious structures, and the Jewish communities were involved in modernization process. After this an order of interaction between Jews and Non Jews began to define myths about «own» and «others», based on the idea of ethnobiological relationship that focused attention of the Jews on the Zionist myth about revival of the Jewish statehood. In the article it is proved that the identity of the Israeli ethnos, formed in the present conditions, is based on the myth of national ethnocentrism and myths obtained in sacred texts of traditional religion that turns religion into a formal symbol and an ethnic characteristic of the Jews. At the same time, among groups of the Jews living out of Israel a search of alternative identities became more active, and the Jewish identity finally lost the integrity. At the same time ethnicity is considered as a personal deed of everyone, which does not concern people around and does not influence a person’s position in society. One of the factors of the Jewish identity abroad is the Jewish formation of myths within which the value of idish culture steadily decreases, and influence of the myths’ formation, connected with influence of globalization, is constantly growing
