Annotation The article is devoted to the definition of the features of the Eastern model of relations of government and business in the conditions of transforming societies of China and India. It is noted that in modern political science a new direction is actively developing, which studies the relationship of business structures with government bodies – Government Relations. The author reveals the influence of the political decision-making process in the PRC and India on the implementation of GR-strategies by business actors. China and India, reflecting the highest rates of economic development in the Asian region and at the same time related to developing economies, have a competitive market system. At the same time, in these countries, state institutions are striving to influence the economy: in the PRC, due to an authoritarian government, this figure exceeds the case of India, in which democratic tendencies are observed. All this in general forces business actors of these countries to look for ways to interact with representatives of government bodies. The main characteristics of the Eastern model GR are highlighted. Both common features of business interaction with government in China and India, and differences are noted. It was concluded that the absence of legislative regulation of business relations with government implies the use of both formal and informal GR-strategies by business actors. It is indicated that the institutional environment in China and India, determined by the parliamentary form of government and the evolving market system, creates conditions in which for a successful GR it is necessary to establish contacts with representatives of the leading party, on whose opinion the political vector of legislative activity depends. It was noted that the most effective stage of intervention in the legislative process is the period of formation of legislative initiative, as well as the period of discussion. The methods used by business actors to influence decision makers: contributions, personal contacts, the presentation of scientific arguments and political and economic information to members of the legislative assembly and committee heads
