Annotation In this article the perspective gold ore district of the southern Urals is considered. Kumakskoe deposit is confined to the rift-related graben. The geological situation is associated with the age-varying carbon-terrigenous-siliceous (O2) and carbon-terrigenous-carbonate (C1v) strata formed in the rift-grade basins of the trough type in the coastal and remote parts of the continental shelf. The connection of Kumak gold ore district with the oil and gas basin of the Volga-Ural province is noted. In regional terms, black shale formation located in the Eastern part of the area of distribution of oil and gas fields of the Orenburg region. In regional terms, black shale formation located in the Eastern part of the area of distribution of oil and gas fields of the Orenburg region. There were recorded gas shows in the area of the Central Ural uplift, signs of gas release in the effusive rocks in the Iriklinsky gorge in the southern Urals, gas in the Khalilov ultrabasic massif. The thinning carbonaceous shale with depth and the appearance of these schists and intrusions of quartz diorite is set. Rocks consist of plagioclase (up to 70 %), quartz (15–25 %), biotite, magnetite, occasionally found hornblende and orthoclase. Quartz diorites are deformed, interstratified, and often have no clear boundaries with the contained metasomatites. Model of deposits’ formation in the Kumaksky region was developed – a step-by-step re-concentration of gold from high clark levels to industrial concentrations where ore-bearing heterogeneous carbon-siliceous (O2) and carbon-terrigenous-carbonate sequences are involved in metasomatism and metamorphism processes
Key words black (carbonaceous) shales; Kumakskoye deposit; gold sulfide deposit; black shale formation; deposits of Ordovician and Carboniferous age; gold content; New Orenburg strata; Bredin suite; metasomatites; carbon metasomatism
