| Annotation |
The main reasons for the development of separatism in the American states of California and Texas are analyzed. They include historical, constitutional, economic, political, social, national, and linguistic reasons. It is noted that the separatist sentiments growth in the southern states of the USA is associated with the rapid growth of the Latin American population, which seeks drive the whites and the blacks out of these territories, to secede from the United States and thereby “restore historical injustice” which in its turn serves as an ideological basis for separatist sentiments of Hispanics. The activity of separatist movements in the studied states is considered. It is revealed that the reasons for the Latin American separatism growth in the southern states of the United States are largely determined by the high level of economic development in California and Texas, their “weight” in the US economy and their ability to compete with the developed economies of the world. It is also noted that at the present stage, the political factor associated with D. Trump’s initiatives to regulate and control illegal immigration flows from the territory of Mexico, is acquiring ever greater importance. The US president’s firm position on this issue can have a negative impact on all spheres of the economy, dependent on illegal immigration, which causes discontent among the political elites of the southern states and leads to the separatist sentiments growth. The practical importance of the work lies in the possibility of using the results of research as a tool for further work in the field of intra-American separatism |
