Annotation The analysis of religious and political ideas of China, spreading among the population of Transbaikalia, is carried out. It is proved that the number of religious constructs having Chinese origin, whose main purpose is the spread of Chinese cultural influence, is growing in Transbaikalia. It is scientifically grounded that the basis for this assumption is that many transbaikalians abandon their own philosophical and religious beliefs and fall under the influence of China’s cultural policy. It is established that the influence of China’s religious ideas on the population of Transbaikalia is understandable, taking into account that the culture of the region was historically formed, influenced by the ideas of the West and the East. The interaction between peoples of Transbaikalia and China was based on a number of common regional archetypes and traditions of world perception. It is noted that the factors influencing the spread of Chinese religious ideas in Transbaikalia are geopolitical conditions, cultural, linguistic and civilizational contacts. The basis of the article was the methodology of studies of Russian-Chinese interaction related to the conduct of comparative analysis and analysis of texts common in the territory of the Chinese borderland. The result of the work was the receipt of factual evidence of the significant spread of religious ideas of Chinese origin among the modern population of Transbaikalia, which proved the tendency of strengthening Chinese religious, ideological, cultural influence in the Transbaikal zone of the Chinese borderland. The theoretical and practical significance of the research is shown: the results of the work can be used in the analysis and forecasting of the socio-cultural situation in the zone of the Russian-Chinese borderland
