Annotation The article presents the results of a material’s deformation nature studies on physical models equivalent to a coal-bearing massif. The technique of experimental research is presented. Based on the results of testing models from an equivalent material, graphs of the relative deformations versus the vertical specific load are obtained. The results physical modeling parameters of the equivalent material around the cavities imitating the mine workings are estimated
