The article examines the contemporary issues related to Chinese migration to
Russia. Chinese migration is determined by the large-scale transformation of Chinese
society, including the policy of modernization, as well as reforms and openness in
the foreign policy. The new strategy of the Chinese society, the nature of the bilateral
relations with Russia, the impact of the global processes have defined the scope,
structure, and directions of the migration flows from China to Russia. The internationalization
of education has defined the new features of intellectual (educational)
migration, where China is the world leader, identifying Russia as a new destination.
China for Russia is a promising market for inbound tourism, the development of which
is associated both with the border Far Eastern territories (Primorsky, Khabarovsk Territory,
Chukotka, Sakhalin, Lake Baikal) and the central regions of the country. Among
the new tourism trends: event, industrial, health, extreme tourism, the development of
which is promising, both in terms of the image of the host country, and the development
of infrastructure, service, and the labor market. The object of the study is the
Chinese migration to Russia. The subject of the study is the current state and the trends of Chinese migration to Russia in the conditions of the policy of modernization in
China. The purpose of the study is to analyze the state, structure and identify trends in
the migration of Chinese citizens to Russia, determine the following tasks: to characterize
the essence of China’s modernization policy; identify the factors of migration activity
of Chinese citizens, the scale, structure of migration to Russia; highlight the trends in the
development of Chinese-Russian migration ties. The methodology of the study is based
on the interdisciplinary approach, general scientific methods of comparative analysis and
generalization. The method of statistical data analysis made it possible to assess the
dynamics of Chinese emigration to Russia at the present stage. |
