The article is devoted to the research of the theoretical basis of the institutional factors of economic development. The object of the research is the process of economic growth. The subject of the research is the theoretical foundations of the study of institutional factors. The purpose of the work is to study the theoretical foundations of the study of institutional factors of economic growth. The research topic is quite developed, a huge number of specialists have studied this problem. The theoretical basis of the research is presented by regulatory and legal sources and works of such foreign and domestic specialists as D. North [8], W. Neal [6], T. Veblen, J. M. Hodgson, T. Eggertsson, S. Y. Kuzmenko, P. M. Nureyev, M. N. Antonenko, A. Rodriguez-Pose, M.
