Graduated from the Faculty of Geography of Moscow State University. M.V. Lomonosov in 1972, majoring in geographer-economist. From 1972 to 1975 she was a graduate student at the Institute of Geography of Siberia and the Far East of the Siberian Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences (now the V.B. Sochava Institute of Geography of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences), and since 1975 she has been its employee. In 1991 she defended her PhD thesis, in 2005 – her doctoral dissertation on the topic “Geographical factors in the development of the regional consumer environment.”

From 2008 to the present day she has been working as the head of the Department of Regional Economic and Social Problems of the Institute of Scientific Research of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, from 2006 to 2015 she was the head of the department of economic and social geography of the Faculty of Geography.
